Incident response

Resolve incidents faster

Turn your incident response playbook into an always-on room that hosts your monitoring, CI, and communication tools for faster real-time decision-making across response teams and on-calls.

Resolve incidents faster

Switchboard helps Engineering, DevOps, and SRE teams:

  • Collaborate in real-time across tools on video calls, or async
  • Unify incident response plans, apps, and dashboards into one space
  • Prep for retrospectives with AI
  • Create visual runbook templates

Use any tool, including:

1.

Faster incident response times

Save time by centralizing alerts, dashboards, and communications. Resolve problems live on calls instead of with static screen shares.

2.

Smoother on-call rotations

Hand off a digital command center to the next in line with all the context they need to get up to speed in one place.

3.

Visual, repeatable runbooks

Organize rooms exactly how you want to diagnose, resolve, and templatize for any incident or to train your team.

Tools you already trust

Any web-based tools work natively in Switchboard’s browser apps—with all your web interactions encrypted in flight, and all data stored in our app encrypted at rest.

Hook up your alerting and incident response tools like PagerDuty and Slack using the Switchboard API to create new rooms from your template when an incident occurs. Learn more.

How to set up your incident response room

  1. Open the tools you need for monitoring, logging, responding to, and resolving incidents in real time in our browser apps. You can also upload any relevant PDFs, docs, Wikis or Confluence pages with protocols and runbooks.
  2. Jump on an interactive video call on the fly during an incident. Use the notepad and open questions app to track anything that comes up. You can also leave comments directly in context, or chat live.
  3. Use AI during the retrospective. Host a postmortem in your room and make any adjustments to the apps and protocols directly in the room template so everything is set up for next time. Use AI to get quick summaries and suggestions.
  4. Record in-room videos for future training. New teammates can learn how to use your incident response room directly in it.

Step into your virtual command center with:

  • Video and voice calls
  • Browsers for any web app
  • Notepads, stickies, and open question apps to track everything
  • Room recordings
  • Screen sharing and presentation mode
  • AI summaries, and idea generation
  • Live chat and comment threads
  • Voting app for favorite ideas, designs, etc.
